Concrete Polishing

Polished concrete is fast becoming the ultimate no-wax flooring material. With the proper floor polishing equipment and experience, contractors can grind concrete floor surfaces, whether new or old, to a high-gloss finish that requires the lowest maintenance and offers the highest durability flooring systems on the market. The superior durability and performance of polished concrete explains why retail, commercial warehouses, office facilities, and even homeowners are attracted to the appeal of these smooth, decorative, high-luster floors.

WHAT IS POLISHED CONCRETE?

Polished concrete is a multi-step process where a concrete floor, whether new or old, is mechanically ground and polished with bonded abrasives in order to cut a concrete floor’s surface. It is then refined with each cut in order to achieve a specified level of sheen. You can choose nearly any color, create patterns with saw cuts, or embed aggregates or interesting objects into the concrete prior to polishing. The reflectivity of the floor can also be controlled.

WHERE CAN POLISHED CONCRETE BE USED?

The most common places polished concrete is used include:

  • Industrial warehouses and manufacturing facilities
  • Retail stores
  • Hotels and restaurants
  • Office buildings
  • Auto showrooms
  • Private residences
  • Universities
  • Virtually any concrete slab can be polished or coated

Acid and Dye Stainings

Staining a concrete floor has rapidly become the choice of many architects, homeowners, and business owners as a low-cost, and easy to maintain flooring option. Various preparation methods can create decorative floor designs, essentially tiles of any size and shape. Concrete staining is variegated; the color cannot be duplicated with other coloring methods.
